Concept
The armour is a carapace created by Man to protect himself during times of war. Because Nature only gave him a thin buckler of hair.
Armour is a witness of his desire to be invincible/ invulnerable throught History. It's like a new skin making him more than human. Nothing can get to his flesh. In europe, the armour is metal made so it's incredibly heavy.
The process to make it requires the ability of an iron-smith and an engraver to decorate the all suit. Each armour is obviously unique, made to measure, wearing the blazon/ armorial bearings of the warrior. All is done to frighten the enemy. It's an accoutrement equipment for a male and offensive parade.
For that, Warrior buckling an armour become a monster, or a robot.
What interests me is the armour shows first this monster but then it let us imagine the man inside. You can see some little parts of his body ( under the arm, between legs...). So, how is the man inside? How he has to move and what posture he takes wearing this weight.
It's used only for few battles in a life. What becomes the armour after, without the man inside? It's not just an object, but a real slought. It revels the absence of boby and in the same time, creates a ghostly presence.
I want to explore the system of armours as incarnation and disincarnation costume.
